Over 100 international students from Zhejiang A&F University, led by Dean Zhao Youhua, recently visited Choumen Village, Dayuan Town.
African dances opened the event, and Dean Zhao urged students to carry real China stories home. "I used to picture China only as skyscraper filled cities, but in Dayuan I saw a warm, simple China," said Wang Lele from Morocco after making the traditional steamed buns himself. Thegroup also climbed the mountains for a panoramic view.
Students also took part in the Jinyun Steamed Bun Making Competition and celebratedChinese New Year locally.
Through the “warmth of everyday life” and the “scent of the soil,” the students experienced traditional folk customs and China’s rural revitalization firsthand.
The trip broadened how international students perceive China and injected youthful vitality into cultural exchange between China and abroad.
Their journey ended with a smiling group photo in front of Huangdi’s Ancestral Temple in the Xiandu Scenic Area.
