On October 15, Zhejiang A&F University and Jinbei Subdistrict's Pingshan Community took 36 international students to the Tuanyuanren Intangible Heritage Handcraft Hall in Longgang Town to experience traditional Lin'an hickory nut making, bringing the cultural classroom into a rural workshop.
Guided by local artisans, the students tried every step of the craft. Le Thi Thu Ha of Vietnam said the hands-on process deepened her understanding of the culture behind the product; Wan Li of Morocco called the activity fresh and unique and said he hopes to join more local events.
The visit is part of the "Wuyue Community, International Pingshan" cooperation brand, under which more than ten China-foreign exchange activities have been held. The program takes students beyond campus to build a direct understanding of rural China and support cultural dialogue.
